Since 2018, Fritz has delivered on his promise to fix Cook County’s broken property system, cleaning up corruption, making the wealthy pay their fair share, and getting more property tax relief to families who need it. Here’s what he’s accomplished:&nbsp;

Fritz's Track Record

Fritz banned gifts to Assessor's office employees, implemented strict ethics rules, and made assessment formulas public and transparent. No more political favors for campaign donors.

Fritz ended pay-to-play corruption

By properly assessing mansions and luxury homes that were paying less than they should, Fritz shifted almost $2 billion in tax burden off working- and middle-class homeowners.

Fritz saved homeowners almost $2 billion

Fritz fought to raise the income eligibility for the Senior Freeze so more households qualify. He also championed automatic renewals for the Senior Exemption.

Fritz expanded tax relief for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities

Fritz spearheaded a new special assessment program that has helped create thousands of affordable housing units across Cook County.

Fritz created more than 15,000 affordable housing units

The Assessor’s office now holds more than one outreach event per business day, with more than one-third in Spanish, helping homeowners understand how appeals and exemptions work.
