Congressional Democrats Endorse Fritz Kaegi For Re-Election As County Assessor

Both U.S. Senators as well as a majority of Cook County’s congressional delegation have endorsed Assessor Kaegi

CHICAGO — Today, members of Congress representing Cook County endorsed Fritz Kaegi for re-election as Cook County Assessor — including both U.S. Senators for Illinois, Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin.

“Fritz has made the property tax system fairer, even when the work hasn’t been easy,” said Congresswoman Delia Ramirez. “He’s making sure mansions and big commercial properties pay their fair share so the system is more equitable, and he’s helped create thousands of units of affordable housing. I’m supporting Fritz because he’s always on the side of working people.”

“Fritz cleaned up the Assessor’s office and turned it into a national model for transparency and fairness. He’s exactly the type of person you want in public office,” said U.S. Congressman Danny Davis. “Working families across Cook County need someone who won't buckle to special interests or play games with their tax bills. Fritz has done that work, and he's earned another term.”

Assessor Kaegi has received the endorsements of the following members of Congress representing Cook County: Senator Dick Durbin, Senator Tammy Duckworth, Rep. Danny Davis, Rep. Bill Foster, Rep. Jesús "Chuy" García, Rep. Jonathan Jackson, Rep. Robin Kelly, Rep. Delia Ramirez, and Rep. Brad Schneider.

The primary election is on March 17, 2026.
